Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born April 26, 1991, and professionally referred to under the surname Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the first female artist to be signed by J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. The debut EP Pho, released in October 21st, 2016, was released on Dreamville Records. The singer began to earn fame. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It came out in May of 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading music online in the year 2012 after she dropped her first mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in the year 2013. The year 2014 saw her release additional music on the internet including Bound. In the year 2015, she was featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes Album, performing the track "Sweat It Out" on the 21st of July. J. Cole, who was a member of the Dreamville crew at that time was interested in having her perform on Rihanna reference. She was officially signed by Dreamville Records on 8 December. On the Album Revenge of the Dreamers II She was on the song Backseat along with Cozz. In October 21, 2016, the artist released her debut album named Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song, and performed on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She also appeared in the music videos Nothing but the Best by EarthGang and Icarus with Bas the label's co-founders. On the 16th of July in 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single Whipped Cream off her debut album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video that was released on September 5. In November, she released the singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. She then released on November 13 two new singles titled The No One and pedigree. Then she appeared in the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track titled Shea Butter Baby on November 16, and it was released as a single on February 26 2019 to accompany her debut album with the same title. A music video was released on 20 February 2019 in conjunction with the song. Within the first week, it had over 3,000,000 views. She was the supporting act for 6LACK as part of their From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December 2018.
