Finch is from California who started playing softball in the age of five. The father of her daughter Doug was her first pitching coach. Jennie aged 10 years old when she started, was the first to use the Finch Windmill which was a hand conditioning device invented by Doug. In high school she was able to throw six perfect games and 13 no-hitters. Then she went to University of Arizona, where as a pitcher, and a first baseman, she made Three times an All-American. It is the Honda Award, given to the top players in softball in 2001, came after the Wildcats were awarded the title of national champions and in 2002 was won by her. Wounded Warrior Softball Team's (WWAST) mission is to increase awareness of the sacrifices made by soldiers, their strength and their capacity to overcome difficulties through the use of celebrity softball games and exhibition games. We aim to prove to other amputees, and to people in general that, through rehabilitation and intensive training they can be able to express themselves and play the game they are passionate about.
